Empowering Communities: Transformative Prayatna Success Stories Changing Lives: Inspiring Prayatna Success Stories

Initial Stage – Inderjeet Kumar, a BSc Computer Science graduate, joined Prayatna , an NGO dedicated to education. Assigned as the head of the Science & Technology group (STG) within Prayatna. Started working with a team of students from lower-class families, mostly 9th and 10th graders. Conducted STEM classes in government schools for 6th to 8th-grade students. Engaged in teaching and training his team members on various projects like IoT and home automation. Collaborated with Robolution company for further initiatives. Also served as a science teacher at Prayatna and conducted scholarship classes like NMMS and NTSE.

How things changed – Through Inderjeets dedication and efforts, significant changes occurred within Prayatna. and its outreach programs. Students from lower-class families found new avenues for learning and growth, thanks to improved education initiatives. More students started excelling in scholarship exams like NMMS and NTSE, reflecting the impact of enhanced teaching and support. Prayatna. became a beacon of hope for underprivileged students, offering them opportunities they wouldnt have had otherwise.

Intervention Stage –Inderjeet recognized the need to intervene and enhance the training of his team members. Took personal responsibility for teaching and mentoring his team, ensuring they were adequately prepared for their roles. Implemented strategies to improve the quality of Prayatna provided to government school students. Strengthened connections with external partners like Robolution to expand opportunities for students.

How things changed – Through Inderjeets dedication and efforts, significant changes occurred within Prayatna. and its outreach programs. Personal Transformation: Students from lower-class families experienced personal growth and development, inspired by Inderjeets humble and dedicated approach. Community Transformation: Prayatnas outreach efforts fostered a sense of community and empowerment among underprivileged students, enabling them to aspire for better futures.

Initial Stage – Jyoti Kumari, a class 11th student from Samalka (Delhi) Govt. school comes from a economically weak family of 12 persons with 5 siblings, 4 out of them are girls. She joined Prayatna 8 years back when she was not enrolled in any school. Prayatna team identifies her in a survey and get her enrolled in nearby Govt. school.

Intervention Stage – When she was 7 years old, we found her in survey and get enrolled her into Govt. school and also in Prayatna daily Remedial Classes.

How things changed – She was quite curious about studies and have shown tremendous improvements in last eight years. She has been very regular not only in classes, but in all tests, activities held in Prayatna centre and now she has been taking active participation all academics and co curricular activities in her school..

Transformation - Teachers of her school have shown very positive sign in her. She has been stood first in classes 6, 7 and 8th. Now she is in Class 9th. Her favorite subject is Science and Maths. She has secured around 94% marks in last yearly exams. She wants to be a professor in science or some exciting career in science.

In year 2019, she has become the highest Topper of her Govt. school by securing 93% marks in Board Class 10th Exams.

Mohd. Anwar Khan

Initial Stage – Anwar Khan, a class 11th student (Now in Navodaya Govt. School) comes from an economically weak family of a village based in Uttar Pradesh. He joined Prayatna , 6 years back when he was not enrolled in any school. Prayatna team identifies him in a survey and get him enrolled in nearby Govt. school. .

Intervention Stage – When he was 12 years old, we found him in a survey and get enrolled her into Prayatna daily Remedial Classes..

How things changed – He was quite curious about studies and have shown tremendous improvements in last 6 years. Interest shown in all activities; have been associated with last Three years; a good performer in Drama also; Intelligent, obediently and sincere

He has been very regular not only in classes, but in all tests, activities held in Prayatna centre and now he has been taking active participation in all academics and co curricular activities in his school.

Transformation - Very Good in Academics and Arts. An excellent learner and painter. Have participated and won few prizes as well in Quiz, Academics and drawing. He has shown tremendous improvement in academics in last 4 years especially, and stood first in his classes from class 7 to 9th . He had been the Head Boy of Prayatna and preparing for Scholarships exams and class 10th exams.

Initial Stage – Nidhi Jha, is a student of Class 12th student (Now in Navodaya Govt. School) Mahendragarh. When Nidhi got recognition in an online debate competition at zonal level, it made her thrilled and she felt that there was no looking back. She was in grade 3 when she heard her tuition teachers discussing Prayatna Centre, and she decided to be a part.

Intervention Stage – She joined Prayatna 8 years back with her elder brother..

How things changed – Nidhi recalled that on her first day at Prayatna, she hesitated and could barely call out her name but overtime her conceptions about teachers being harsh and rude faded away. She started taking her lessons at Pratyana and soon got familiar with the working and activities. Apart from teaching academic lessons, she took part in various cultural activities like dance, drama and special day celebrations. She loved to be a part of debates and declamations. She was one of the best debaters at Pratyana. .

Transformation - Being the Child Welfare Coordinator, she was trained to look after the wellbeing of students in Pratyana and now she guides the girl students to follow their passion. Prayatna motivated her to lead her role from the front. Being a part of Prayatna’s Mitra Mandal, she felt like ruling a world of friends with their own conviction and comprehension. She felt fortunate that she got the opportunity to be Uppradhan Mitra to coordinate all the activities of Mitra Mandal. .
